Search for jobs online

Many great jobs are advertised online. Search FindYourJob.ca for information on available jobs, labour market needs and more in Waterloo Region. You can also search the Canada Job Bank or other major job sites such as Jooble.ca, Workopolis, Ontario Job Bank and Indeed for jobs across Canada.

Search newspaper listings

Some jobs are advertised in newspapers national and local newspapers. Look in the classified section under "Help Wanted", "Careers" or "Job Fairs".

Check trade magazines

There are many trade magazines in Canada relevant to your profession or trade. They can help your job search process by providing:

  • Information about trends and the "soft skills" sought in the industry 
  • Job search advice
  • Job postings
  • News about new developments in the industry 
  • Notices of events and conferences

Libraries are a good place to read trade magazines for free.

Go to job fairs

Job fairs are conducted regularly in Waterloo Region. Job fairs are a good place to gather information about specific employers or your industry, and to hand out your resume. You can find announcements about upcoming job fairs in newspapers and employment centres.
