  • 28 Initiatives by Community Organizations and Groups Funded to Support Immigrants and Refugees Funding will strengthen the welcoming and integration of refugees and immigrants to the region Waterloo Region - The Waterloo Region Immigration Partnership, together with the Region of Waterloo and Waterloo Region Community Foundation (WRCF), is pleased to announce $1,164,040 in funding for local initiatives from the Immigration Partnership Fund for Immigrant and Refugee Initiatives and the Fund for Immigrant Economic Wellbeing. Fund Review Committees, made up of eight Immigration Partnership community partners, reviewed 49 applications submitted through open call processes in August and September, which aligned with open calls for WRCF‘s Racial Equity Fund and the Region's Upstream Fund.
  • The Cloverleaf Foundation Making a Difference in the lives of Ukrainians Seeking Refuge in Waterloo Region For immediate release                                                                                                                  November 1, 2022   The Cloverleaf Foundation Making a Difference in the lives of Ukrainians Seeking Refuge in Waterloo Region Waterloo Region – $50,000 donation in support of Ukrainians fleeing war in Waterloo Region The Immigration Partnership of Waterloo Region is pleased to announce a $50,000 contribution by the Cloverleaf Foundation to the Immigration Partnership Fund for Immigrant and Refugee Initiatives at the Waterloo Region Community Foundation. As the situation continues to evolve in Ukraine due to Russia's military actions, millions of Ukrainians have scattered around the world seeking refuge.
  • Refugee Task Force to Support Refugee Resettlement Efforts Waterloo Region -Afghan and other refugee resettlement in Waterloo Region The Immigration Partnership (IP) Council is convening a Refugee Task Force to provide strategic and operational oversight to resettlement efforts across the region as the federal government works to bring 40,000 Afghans to Canada. As one of 34 resettlement locations for government assisted refugees in Canada and with a strong history of private refugee sponsorship, Waterloo Region is poised to welcome many new refugee families.
