Settle
Supporting newcomers to build a strong foundation
The Settle Steering Group (SSG) brings together immigrant, health, housing, and other community organizations to help newcomers access the services, information, and community connections they need during their early years in Waterloo Region.
The group focuses on improving how systems respond to a changing population so newcomers can find housing, learn languages, access support, and connect with their community.
What we do together
Through the Settle Steering Group, we coordinate settlement-focused services and initiatives, identify gaps and collaborative solutions, and share tools, resources, and promising practices across organizations. We also work to improve referrals and communication between partners, while supporting service adaptation for diverse communities across Waterloo Region.
This work is supported through coordinated efforts that strengthen collaboration and improve how settlement is supported across the region.
Our working groups
We support collaboration, coordination, and professional development among settlement and community partners. These working groups lead collaborative efforts that support newcomer settlement across Waterloo Region.
