Community investment
Through partnerships, we host and direct funding and resources to initiatives that support immigrants and refugees.
Started in 2016 to channel overwhelming community generosity in support of Syrian, Afghan, Ukrainian and other refugees, and maintained as a call to continued community support for immigrants, the Immigration Partnership Council leads:
- Immigration Partnership Fund for Immigrant and Refugee Initiatives, in partnership with the Waterloo Region Community Foundation
- Immigrant Economic Wellbeing Fund, in partnership with the Region of Waterloo (now closed)
Together, these funds have contributed $2M to strengthen regional programs and services that help immigrants and refugees settle, work, and belong.
